Milkha Singh found it overwhelming to watch his life unfold on the big screen ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ which is a biopic on him. Milkha attended the premiere of the film in London and watched Farhan Akhtar portraying him on the big screen. An emotional Milkha spoke about the experience saying, “I saw the film in London three days back… I cried in the second half and it was Farhan who handed over his handkerchief to me to wipe my tears.”
Interestingly, Milkha had last seen a movie sometime in 1960 and said it was his son’s decision to hand his story to Reykesh Omprakash Mehra for directing the biopic. He explained, “It was my son Jeev Milkha Singh (a renowned golfer) who happens to watchHindi films regularly and decided to hand over the story to Mehra as he had seen director’s ‘Rang De Basaanti’.” In the movie, Sonam Kapoor essays the role of Milkha Singh’s girlfriendwhile Divya Dutta played his elder sister. BMB has finally released today (July 12).
